JACKSON OATS SHAW is proud to be associated with several Atlanta area charities that are continually helping to make measurable changes for the local community and its neighbors.
Our efforts of support include:
The Brain Tumor Foundation for Children (BTFC) uses the proceeds that are raised to provide emotional and financial assistance, education, information, scholarships and research funding to children and families throughout the Southeast. Through our 2007 involvement, we were able to aid the organization in raising the funds to provide three new hospitals to the Butterfly Fund Program in South Carolina, Mississippi, and Louisiana.
At the Edmondson-Telford Center for Children annual event, hosted by former Braves player Phil Niekro, support is given which is dedicated to providing services to several North Georgia Counties to support the victims of abuse and neglect. Offering a safe environment for over 1200 families since 1997, the Edmondson-Telford Center offers services to families in need and JACKSON OATS SHAW’s involvement in the Golf Classic has helped raise the necessary funds to support the expansion of the Center’s facility to include an emergency children’s home and residential assessment center helping victims rebuild their lives in a caring environment.
JACKSON OATS SHAW proudly participates in events held to raise money for research in the effort to restore and prevent the causes and effects of juvenile diabetes through the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Since 1970, JDRF has committed billions of dollars to clinics and research in 22 countries in an attempt to combat diabetes.
Intent on creating a sense of belonging, it’s no wonder two of Atlanta’s most prominent citizens would dedicate their time, effort, and resources to benefiting an organization like the YMCA. Expanding the facility and adding more programs has helped the Southwest Atlanta YMCA reopen its doors to a community that so richly needed it. JACKSON OATS SHAW is proud to have been a part of the effort.
JACKSON OATS SHAW is proud to sponsor the 2008 Commercial Board of Realtors event and promote the Carter Samuel Martin Experimental Research Fund, a non-profit charity that helps raise awareness of experimental drugs and therapy for children with cancer. The Carter Samuel Martin Experimental Therapy Research Fund helps enable the Aflac Cancer Center to conduct more clinical trials than ever before, thus contributing to the overall survival rate of all children with cancer.
The Dana G. Smith Fund was created in March 2006 to assist those in their fight against cancer. Oftentimes, because of poor insurance coverage, missed work, multiple co-pays, doctor visits and travel, those battling cancer find themselves unable to pay basic bills such as rent and utilities. To date, the DGS fund has helped countless individuals focus on recovery and avoid the everyday hassles that can interrupt those efforts.
For the last 20 years, Leadership Ministries Inc. has trained, encouraged, and supported local business leaders by providing faith-based resources to succeed both in business and at home. This not for profit organization represents the core of what is truly important in life and has challenged and changed the lives of thousands of people. JACKSON OATS SHAW is proud to support LMI’s ongoing initiatives.
JACKSON OATS SHAW is proud to support Buckhead Baseball, a local Atlanta little league park. Over 1,000 kids ages 5 to 12 sign-up each year to play in the community league that has been involved in the Buckhead community for over 50 years. The league also supports the “Buddy Baseball” program, joining players with children with disabilities to enjoy in the game of Baseball.
As a Premier Sponsor to numerous events, JACKSON OATS SHAW was pleased to support Georgia State University in raising money to support the GSU Real Estate Department through endowments, educational programs, research projects, professional associations and technological advances in the department assisting faculty and students.
JACKSON OATS SHAW is proud to contribute to The Gateway Center, assisting in their commitment to bringing together the entire Atlanta community to help end homelessness. The Center strives to provide a supportive and
compassionate setting where individuals can end their homelessness and maximize their self-sufficiency.
